Principal Energy Systems Consultant
Planning your forever home can quickly become complex, with decisions around power, heating, sevices, grid limitations and site constraints all influencing one another.
I help you make sense of those decisions before you commit to a system design, installer or expensive infrastructure choice.
My role is to give you a clear whole-house energy strategy — practical, independent and based on real-world system experience.
I usually begin with a clear feasibility review, then develop the strategy in more detail if your project moves forward.
For early ideas, empty plots, rural sites, old barns or first-stage plans.
I help you understand what is realistic, where the risks are, and which direction makes sense before money is spent on detailed design.
I assess the whole site and model different design options to find the optimum energy strategy.
This brings together the building, heating, hot water, renewable energy, storage, backup power, running costs, winter resilience and the best use of excess energy.
I help keep the energy strategy joined up as the project moves through design, specification, construction and sign-off.
This can include design review, installer liaison, groundworks coordination, compliance, insurance considerations and on-site problem solving.
Years Experience
I have worked across renewable energy, off-grid systems and integrated energy design for over two decades.
Systems Delivered
I draw on monitored performance data from more than 120 real-world systems, including off-grid, hybrid and research led renewable energy projects.
Specialist
I specialise in rural, self-build and off-grid homes where energy decisions need to be made carefully from the start.
Explore a selection of residential, commercial and off-grid projects I have worked on across previous roles, collaborations and consultancy work.
These projects show how independent energy strategy, renewable energy integration and long-term monitored performance come together in practice.
If you are planning a rural, self-build or off-grid home, send me a brief outline of your project and where you are in the process.
You do not need to know exactly what you need yet. I personally review every enquiry and will let you know the most sensible next step.
